Ben Kuchma

Hi, I'm Ben! I'm a senior at UMass Amherst with an large academic interest in quantum computing. I am currently finishing my B.S. where I am majoring in physics and computer science with a minor in math.

I'm currently engaged in a variational quantum algorithm project with Professor Chen Wang, and in a quantum error correction code project with Professor Stefan Krastanov. Please feel free to read about my current projects on my research projects page.

When I'm not surrounded by a symphony of pulse tubes or monkeying around with some code, I enjoy running science tournaments and traveling to new places. I'm also an avian enthusiast, and like memorizing different species of birds from around New England. Similarly, I'm a big fan of crosswords, and enjoy churning through a few of them in my free time.
